چکیده

whereas American industry has available large supplies of natural gas; the refiner in the U.S.A. can therefore produce high quality fuels partly by catalytic cracking of heavy distillates, but his European counterpart has no such opportunity and must rely to a much greater extent on catalytic reforming processes to produce high quality fuels from straightrun naphthas. Again, while demand for high-octane gasolines has increased significantly, the growth in demand for aromatic hydrocarbons in Western Europe has been phenomenal. Until fairly recently the coal industry in Europe was able to meet this demand, but this situation has changed materially and it has become an obvious move on the part of oil refiners to install capacity for the separation of benzene and other aromatics from platinum reformates by fractional or extractive distillation. Today something between 30 and 40 per cent of the organic chemicals produced in Western Europe are derived from petroleum and the proportion is increasing rapidly. By the beginning of the present year the number of platinum reforming plants in Western Europe had grown to sixty-three, with a capacity of 27.4 million metric tons per year. In fact nearly two-thirds of existing Western European oil refineries have a catalytic reforming unit in operation. These respect. Consumption of fuel oil is very high, reforming plants are located in cvery country of Europe with the exception of Luxembourg,

A comparison on the emission of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and their corresponding carcinogenic potencies from a vehicle engine using leaded and lead-free gasoline.

Our objective in this study was to assess the effect of using two kinds of lead-free gasoline [including 92-lead-free gasoline (92-LFG) and 95-lead-free gasoline (95-LFG), rated according to their octane levels] to replace the use of premium leaded gasoline (PLG) on the emissions of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and their corresponding benzo[a]pyrene equivalent (BaP(eq)) amounts from ...

Assessment of Sources and Health Risks of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the Street Dust of Dezful City

Street dust is mainly affected by the pollution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). PAHs are a group of organic pollutants consisting of two or more benzene rings and are mainly produced during incomplete combustion. PAHs have attracted widespread attention due to their high carcinogenic and mutagenic properties in humans. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the sour...

پاک‌سازی بیولوژیکی خاک‌های آلوده به اتیل بنزن, تولوئن و نفتالین

Background & Objective: Aromatic hydrocarbons are produced by incomplete combustion of fossil fuels and pollute the soil following the emission into the atmosphere by precipitation. Numerous studies suggest that microbial inoculation has contributed to biodegradation of aromatic hydrocarbons. However, other studies have not confirmed the efficacy of this procedure in biodegradation. Regarding t...

Modeling Soot Formation in Kerosene and Fuel Surrogates Combustion

This article presents an analysis of soot formation in kerosene and fuel surrogates. This analysis is based on a detailed chemical mechanism for the combustion of single component fuels such as n-heptane, isooctane, benzene, and toluene. The chemical mechanism describes the formation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) up to cyclo[cd]pyrene and is shown to reproduce the formation of soot ...

Hollow Fibers Networked with Perovskite Nanoparticles for H2 Production from Heavy Oil

Design of catalytic materials has been highlighted to build ultraclean use of heavy oil including liquid-to-gas technology to directly convert heavy hydrocarbons into H2-rich gas fuels. If the H2 is produced from such heavy oil through high-active and durable catalysts in reforming process that is being constructed in hydrogen infrastructure, it will be addressed into renewable energy systems. ...
